For a band that have only been together for around seven
months, you would soon think that they don’t have many songs and also have a
few teething problems. Not so with Leeds based band Static Needles, these guy are
reviving the grunge era and giving it the big old kick up the arse that is
needed.
So let Rapture do what it does best and let us introduce
these guys to you lovely readers. To start with you have Jack who is the bassist, George is
the guitarist/lead singer and Jordan is the drummer. A three piece grunge band
who upon first listen you can hear the influences of many grunge bands, I will
not name them because we all know who they are, and yes they are undeniably
awesome but we need to make way for a new band. Static needles are this band
get ready and get excited because they are going to take you on a journey and
fuck with your mind.
Let’s
go through a couple of their tracks so you can get an idea of what they are
like. So first up is ‘No Me Caes Bien’ a song that is dark, dirty
and will make you want to be a teenager sporting that greasy long haired look
all over again (that is if you have not got it already). This track has great
potential to be even louder, certainly a head banger live.
Next is ‘Give A Damn’ this is lighter in sound but more
distortion than you know what to do with. I like this more than the last it has
a lot more going on in terms of tempo. ‘No Me Caes Bien’ is an anthem, but I
enjoy something a little more than that.
Static Needles certainly have a lot of potential to go
far, and for a band that have only been around a short amount of time and
producing songs of this caliber you really need to give them a listen.

Till next time readers enjoy!
